PCI Security Standards Council Revises SSL Migration Deadline

On December 28, 2015, the PCI Security Standards Council announced that the SSL/TLS migration deadline has been moved from June 30, 2016 to June 30, 2018. Stephen Orfei, General Manager of the PCI Security Standards Council, explained that while migration to more secure encryption is technically simple, the original deadline did not take into account the complexities of the global payments ecosystem.
